Classic Wisconsin Old Fashioned
Thank you, Germany
Time to make history in a glass. Before you even think about grabbing a glass, take hold of your Korbel Brandy (yes, it better be Korbel) and say thank you to the drunk German immigrants of 1893. Screw industry, Wisconsinites prefer to drink.
What You Need: Sweet & Sour
- Korbel Brandy
- Some cherries, orange slice, sugar cube, Angostura bitters, muddler
- Choose your 'wash'
- for sweet: sprite or 7-up
- for sour: sour mix or seltzer
Lets Go to Work:
- In an empty glass, drop cherries, orange slice, 2-3 dashes of bitters, sugar cube (if sweet), and a splash of preferred 'wash'. Grab your muddler and break down ingredients. Easy muscles, do not over muddle.
- Fill glass with ice, add 1 oz. of Korbel, and top off with 'wash' of choice
- Garnish with a cherry and an orange slice
Take a sip - picture the Lambeau Leap, fishing with Dad, a bonfire, and the whiff of a cigar. Repeat.
